Appendix A: Common Error Messages

Error Message:
An Error Has Occurred
Description:
Databridge Failed to connect to Retrieval Database Located at:
Q:\database folder\cdstamp.mdb

Fix:
Two possible causes:

  1. The network drive is not mapped to the correct server. In this case simply re-map drive Q:\ to the correct server.
  2. The path saved in DataBridge.ini is incorrect.

To fix it, open the configuration utility.

Click on the Select button, and find the cdstamp.mdb file for your retrieval database.
(This is different for each site)

Click on the "Save settings" button and close the configuration utility.

Error Message:
Could not load image from this path
Q:\DataBridge\Queues\0096XX\XX\0000000X.tif
Check your network drive.
A missing or incorrectly mapped drive is the most common cause of this error.

Fix:
This could also be a network drive mapped incorrectly or a bad path in DataScan.ini. Check the network drive first. The network drive must be mapped to the same location on each client's computer.
Example: If Sue's station added disk 0099001 to the system, and she added it from her Q:\ drive (mapped to \\server\share\disks), then every station needs a drive Q:\ mapped to the same location in order to retrieve images from that disk.

See the Network Setup for more information on using DataBridge2 on a network.

Error Message:
I open DataBridge2, and it loads the first splash screen and then just disappears.

Fix:
This is caused by a control not being properly registered by the installer. Windows divides users into task groups, and if your organization uses windows security features, you may not have a high enough permission level to install software. When installing DataBridge2, make sure that you have admin access to your PC. Get an administrator to re-install DataBridge2 on your PC.

Note: In DataBridge2 version 2.0.9X this error was caused by a missing control on the host computer. If your using DataBridge2 version 2.0.9X, make sure Microsoft Imaging for Windows is installed.

Error Message:

Q:databridge/retrieval database/1.MDB isn't on index in this table.look in the indexes collection of the tabledef object to determine valid index names.

Fix:

The error signifies a corrupted database. In this case it's 1.mdb. You need to log in to DataBridge2 using an account with admin privileges. (If you can see an Administration menu at the top of the screen, then you have admin privileges)

From the Administration menu

  1. Select the Database menu
  2. Click on repair database
  3. This process could take some time, and once it is started it cannot be interrupted.
  4. Once the process is complete, restart DataBridge2.

Error Message:
I get the following error, but I know my code has not expired yet.

Fix:
DataBridge2 uses identification numbers that it pulls from various pieces of hardware in your computer to calculate your computer ID. If you've recently replaced a hard-drive, network card or CPU, you will get this error message. The registration code you were given was created to work with only one computer ID. Call our technical support department at 1-800-275-3150, and a new registration code will be issued to you.
