- If you are comfortable with Microsoft Windows™ then you’ll
be able to use document manager immediately. The main screen resembles
Windows™ Explorer. Cabinets and folders pull down on the left.
Clicking on them reveals their contents in the main window.

- Tools bars at the top and right of the screen control the basic
functionality of documents manager. It also makes extensive use
of windows drag and drop. If you have a document on your desktop,
you can just drag it into document manager.

- Finding the documents you need is easy. Type your search criteria
into the search toolbar, select a search type and click the search
button. You can perform attribute, folder, and full-text searches
on your documents. The attribute search looks at all the index fields
for your cabinet. The folder search looks at folder names, and the
full-text search looks at the contents of every document in a cabinet.

- You can print, fax or e-mail documents by dragging them to the
appropriate icon.

- With Document Manager, you can scan directly into a cabinet using
any TWAIN, ISIS, or network Scan Gear enabled device.

- Register imageRUNNER mailboxes as cabinets so their contents can
be moved or copied into your Document Manager system.

- You’re not limited to TIFF or PDF images. Document Manager
can take care files created by Word, Excel, Photoshop, etc…
When you open these kinds of non-image documents, Document Manager
will use their native application if available. If you don’t
have the application on your computer, the included Stellent®
Outside In® viewer will be used. The viewer can open over 250

- Document Manager utilizes Microsoft’s SQL Database engine.
The workgroup edition uses desktop engine, and the enterprise edition
uses the full-blown SQL Server 2000. Protect your data with the
most supported database management system in the industry.

- Security is paramount for Document Manager. With file level granularity,
administrators can control access to every document to ensure that
sensitive company data is available to only the users that need
it. Document Manager tracks five different access rights including:
view, read, write, annotate, delete and none.

- The workgroup edition will install with no supporting software
onto any desktop operating system. This is perfect for a single

Optional Features |
- With the optional Web Document Server, your documents can be viewed
through any web browser. With Internet Explorer™ and the included
plug-in, almost all of the functionality of the full client can
be accessed via your web browser. Display, print, download, annotate,
and even scan documents right from your web browser.

- Canon’s Scan Manager 2002 provides an efficient method of
capturing and indexing large volumes of documents. It also provides
a variety of export formats, which allow Scan Manager to interoperate
with most document retrieval systems. Document Manager integrates
tightly with Scan Manager. A click of the mouse will move documents

Enterprise Edition Features |
- Advanced audit trail and statistical information is created every
time a document is viewed, added, modified, deleted. The enterprise
edition is HIPAA compliant.

- Transparent version management allow up to 254 versions of any
document in your system. As changes are made to a document in your
system, a new version is saved separate from the original. This
keeps your documents current, and makes it possible to view past
versions of any modified document in your Document Manager system.

- Keeping documents longer than required can open your business
up to increased litigation risks. With document manager, you can
automatically enforce your current record retention policies. When
a document expires, it is automatically deleted.

- All your staff needs is another password to remember. With the
single sign on, your users can be authenticated using your existing
